What happens to your data
- Your browser does all the work. The page sends your settings to no server.
- The page has no ads, no account and no cookies.
- The page saves your settings in this browser only (the key is metronome:settings:v1). It saves the tempo, the time signature, the subdivision and the volume.
- To remove what the page saved, clear the site data of this page in your browser.
- When the metronome has played for 60 seconds in one run, the page sends one anonymous count to our server. It has the tool, the job ("practice_session"), the page type, a random id for this page load, and mobile or desktop. It has no tempo and no settings. No cookie, no IP address.
- If the page has an error, it sends an error report to the server. The report has no settings and no personal data.
How the metronome works
Code in your browser plays the clicks. The browser makes the sound with the Web Audio API. The page loads no audio file. It does not use your microphone.
Who hosts this page
Cloudflare hosts this page. Like any web host, it sees your IP address and the page you ask for. It keeps technical request logs, with no IP address, for 7 days. Cloudflare also counts visits to the page with Cloudflare Web Analytics. For about 1 in 10 requests, it records the browser and operating system, the language, the network and an approximate location. It works these out from your connection.
